How do they work?

Consider a set of substrates undergoing the same reaction:

There are several different representations we might use for these reactions.

• Reactant/product notation, with atom map.

• Reaction graph. Superimpose the reactant and product, note the bond changes.

• "Change list". List the changes which occur in the reaction, plus the substrate.
