RE: Observatory at 1045 Stagecoach Road

Dear Ms. Condon:

It is my understanding that some people have called the city to task for issuing a building permit for the observatory erected at the above address. I would like to go on record as a third-generation Santa Fean who not only supports the observatory, but who enthusiastically endorses the Weininger/Abriel household for their actions.

Not only have they undertaken a project that is exciting, interesting and educational, they have also offered the entire city an opportunity to join them and share their observatory. What a gift to all of us!

I am not a resident of that neighborhood, but my profession requires that I drive past it at least once a week. Someday I hope to visit the observatory from close quarters, but my health currently prevents me from doing so.

Please remember that we are residents of a country which guarantees us the right to the pursuit of happiness, and for something as innocent and as intelligent as this observatory to be struck down because someone else deems it unsightly would be a travesty. What a black mark would be added to this city's history! Please allow us all to live fulfilling lives - including the Weininger/Abriel houseold and the folks who are interested in and intrigued by their project.
