Weineger observatory

I am writing in response to the lovely letter that Adric and Ian Lucero (ag 9 and age 4) wrote in support of the Weineger Observatory. I, too, praise Mr. Weineger for his contribution to the people of his neighborhood.

I have begun to notice that the importance of Santa Fe "style" is beginning to suffocate real life in this small town, i.e., busting teen-agers on the Plaza, not allowing street musicians, the celebration (?) of the "genetrification of Gypsy Alley." The soul of this city is being threatened by individuals whose bottom line is money and whose motivation is fear of losing their money. To keep the awe in life, sometimes it takes a great big telescope and a passionate neighbor.
