1045 Stagecoach Road, remodel

The Zelazny house is in a beautiful ridgetop location just north of Santa Fe. It must have been very stylish when Harvest Gold formica was in fashion. But now, the house needed Dawn as much as we needed a house. Here are some photos of the remodel in progress.
Returning from the Grand Canyon river trip 9/96 there was a chill in the air and summer was over. It was time to rearrange the kitchen so we could sit around the kiva without getting fried. After trying several rearrangements, Dawn found that the banco seemed to be in the way. So she demolished it.
Banco debris. More banco debris.
Dawn carving a groove in the beam which will form the lintel for the six front doors. The front doors hang from a barn-door track.
The doors fold open in a 4-2 pattern. Glass block fills the gap above the lintel. The sunset view through the shop front doors.
A troublesome old faucet.
