SPRESI
Chemical Literature Reference

The All-Union Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of the Academy of Science of the USSR (VINITI) in Moscow, and the Central Information Processing for Chemistry (ZIC) in Berlin have since 1974 abstracted widely from the world's chemical literature to maintain this database. These data have only recently been made available to the west by InfoChem GmbH. SPRESI consists of data gathered since 1974 from almost 3.8 million substances. It includes data extracted from over 560,00 patents, journals, books, and other sources. Property data includes boiling point, decomposition, density, dissociation, melting point, polymorphic transformation, refractive index, optical rotation, and sublimation are also provided. Given the size of SPRESI, Daylight software is uniquely suited to handle it. With sufficient RAM, searches can be made over the entire database in seconds.

SPRESI is currently available in DayCart®/Oracle import format.
