MUG '98 -- 12th Annual Daylight User Group Meeting -- 24 February 1997

Wrapping Daylight Tools for CORBA/SYNERGY

Kevin Austin (Merck), Tom Bangert (NetGenics), John Rice (NetGenics) and Lisa Staggenborg (NetGenics)

ABSTRACT

The Daylight toolkit is a component of Merck's "KIDS" system, as Brian Claus, Mike Miller and Kevin Austin reported at a previous Daylight user group meeting. Merck and NetGenics are conducting an experiment which involves wrapping Daylight tools for use in NetGenics' SYNERGY framework. This allows the Daylight tools to be effectively integrated in a heterogeneous computing environment via the SYNERGY Framework, which utilizes CORBA (Common Object Request Broker Architecture).

Information about NetGenics and Synergy is available from the NetGenics home page. For information about CORBA and the Object Management Group, please see the OMG home page. Life Sciences Research is a new OMG Domain Special Interest Group and has its own LSR home page.

This talk focuses on our experience utilizing Daylight tools in the SYNERGY framework for similarity and substructure search.
