Use of Daycart in the Development of an Electronic Laboratory Notebook

Alistair Sedwell, Caroline McGee
Evotec OAI

ABSTRACT

Within the Chemistry Divisions of Evotec OAI hundreds of chemical reactions are carried out each week. As part of a company wide Knowledge Management program we wanted to build a system for storing and sharing this information across the organisation. Our solution was to capture the experiments in an Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) system.

This presentation describes how we have upgraded our ELN system by introducing a substructure searchable reaction database. Daylight's Daycart was chosen as the database technology in the development of this solution.
